Note:  Wrote this I guess about 5 years ago.  I haven't changed my mind about the cable.

yes, I know, I've been very quiet but it is only because I am not an economist (shock!) and I don't have anything to say through these times except that we voted Barack Obama in and I think we should give him the reins. I cannot tell you anything you have not heard already. I think stimulus is the right idea. I think tax cuts are not. I like Obama's budget. I do believe that we can fix the economy, the education system, energy and the environment all at the same time. If I hear one more pundit telling me how it's all so "confusing," ... well, there's no telling what I will do. I also think the Republicans have no scruples. The "we made a complete hames of it and we apologise completely" thing is completely foreign to them. They are obstreporous and divisive and the oft used phrase "out of touch..." which they are. Completely and utterly out of touch. What's left of them.

I have stopped watching cable (with the exception of The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC). There is no intelligent discourse there and instead of working myself in to a frenzy each time I hear some idiotic commentary I have decided not to watch at all. Maybe this is a mistake. Maybe I will change my mind. Maybe I will convince myself that I need to pay attention if for no other reason then to know what is out there. Maybe.

In the meantime, I promise to write more here, more often, and apologise for my absence.
